TV Markíza

Reflecting the strong family values of Slovak culture, TV Markíza has built its programming strategy around family entertainment. Launched in 1996 and reaching 86% of Slovakia's 5.4 million population, Markíza TV dominates the national TV landscape attracting a 35.9% all day audience share in its 12+ target group during the first half of 2008.

Broadcasting 24 hours a day, Markíza TV provides the Slovak Republic with a broad range of programming including news, movies, entertainment and sports. Approximately 30% of Markíza's programming is locally-produced, including top-rated shows Televízne noviny (TV News), Športové noviny (Sports News), Reflex (daily magazine), Aj múdry schybí (To Err is Only Human). Vilomeniny (Shenanigans), Susedia (domestic sitcom Neighborhoods) and Ordinácia v ružové záhrade (Rose Clinic), which was a new addition to the schedule in 2007. Local productions planned for 2008 are Elán je Elán (Elan is Elan), Let's Dance, Mesto tieňov (City of Shadows).

Among the stations‘ highest-rated shows is its news programming, which regularly attracts high audience share.

Markiza's advertisers include large multi-national corporations such as Procter & Gamble, Henkel, Unilever, Orange, Telefonica O2, T-Com, Danone Group, Nestle and Benckiser.

TV Markiza's colourful website www.markiza.sk offers a whole range of interesting news and gives tips on lifestyle, house decorating, showbiz and travelling. TV Markiza also publishes a weekly magazine with all the news about upcoming programs and events.
